GHS Tech Ninja Program


Mode of Delivery: Online

Audience: Glenwood High School staff only

Cost: Free

Completing GHS Tech Ninjas will contribute 10 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing 3.4.2 and 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.


This course will provide teachers with the technological knowledge and skills to properly support their teaching activities that use ICT. It also provides them with instructions as to how to troubleshoot ICT issues that commonly occur in their learning spaces as well as how to use software that is used specifically by staff, students and their parents at Glenwood High School. Overall, the GHS Tech Ninja Program will permit teachers to autonomously use ICT to create or support learning activities that will engage students in their learning. Teachers who participate in the GHS Tech Ninja Program will participate in school-specific teacher professional learning that is targeted to their needs.

NSW DoE Digital Tools

This course provides insight about the latest G Suite and Office 365 tools that the NSW Department of Education are endorsing and how you can use them in your classroom/school delivered by a NSW DoE Online Collaboration Mentor. It is designed to support the new technologies Australian Curriculum that is being implemented shortly and promote cross KLA use of technologies.


Participants will examine the process of implementing and maintaining the use of G Suite and Office 365:

Using Minecraft Education in the classroom

This course provides an overview of how Minecraft Education can be used in a secondary classroom to support teaching programs. It will also show teachers how to download necessary software using their Department of Education email address.

The Technology Learning Trajectory for K-12 (Glenwood HS and Feeder Schools)

Audience: Teachers from Glenwood High School, Caddies Creek Public School and Parklea Public School

This course provides insight to the technological capabilities of each school and the expectation required from Stage 3 students when enrolling for high school. This course is aimed at assisting teachers in understanding the technological inclusions and limitations at each school so that all three schools can work together to build a common learning trajectory in ICT.

Maximising the communication in your school

This course is designed to assist other secondary schools in developing their communication plans and policies. Based on showcasing the experiences used at Glenwood High School, teachers will be able to see how a collection of mediums including the SWS (website), social media, traditional communication methods and innovative methods can be used collectively to maximise community involvement and enhance student engagement in the classroom/school.

This workshop will deliver a series of small how to demonstrations of digital tools and online learning and collaboration platforms.
