Google Apps For Education
Google Apps For Education
2015 marked the beginning of a new era for Rooty Hill High School. BYOD was introduced to all students in years 7-12 with particular focus on the implementation of a Digital Curriculum aimed at Stage 4 (year 7 and 8) students.
As a Google Certified Educator, I was able to embed Google Apps For Education (GAFE) into our teaching and learning programs to enable students to use its suite of products safely and seamlessly within the classroom. Students in years 7 and 8 were exposed to a one-full day immersion lesson that gave them an overview of all of the Google apps that could be used to learn. All students in years 7 and 8 attend ICT (separate to any other subject).
All skills learned and developed in class are done through individual and collaborative activities. All classwork is accessible via Google Classrooms and Subject Websites. Here are some examples of work that students have created.
In an ideal educational setting, administration consoles are necessary to provide sufficient access to ICT platforms. This has been done via the use of Hapara.
